Summary

This position is located in the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General (DoD OIG). The incumbent of this position will work within the Office of the Deputy Inspector General for Investigations (DIG INV), Defense Criminal Investigative Service (DCIS), Investigative Operations Directorate, Asset Forfeiture Division.

Duties

Help
  • Plans, organizes and conducts quantitative and qualitative analysis of structured and unstructured data.
  • Reviews investigative reports and supporting documentation to uncover relationships between investigations.
  • Acquires and maintains advanced search and reporting tools necessary to identify, extract, analyze, and report case management system (CMS) and related data.
  • Provides recommendations to management regarding improved business and management practices for application to agency programs or operations.
  • Reviews CMS and related information systems for quality assurance purposes.
  • Knowledge of Defense Criminal Investigative Service (DCIS) automated information systems as well as ever-changing program analysis and reporting requirements.
  • Serves as an administrator of CMS and related systems used to capture and report investigative results and related information.
  • Prepare for inspection visits, participate in meetings, and complete special projects for the inspection.

  • Position has been designated as Critical Sensitive. Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Incumbent is required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment and is subject to random drug testing for the duration of service with DoD OIG.
  • Current DoD civilian employees are not required to submit to drug testing if moving from one Testing Designated Position (TDP) to another with no break in service, unless deemed appropriate on a case-by-case basis.
  • If you have not previously completed a probationary period with the Federal government in a similar position, you will be required to serve a two-year probationary period.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirements:Specialized Experience: You must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-12 level within the Federal service or equivalent. Specialized experience is defined as collecting, analyzing, and reporting results concerning investigative activities and programs; verifying data integrity and validating results reported in the case management and related information systems; assisting in troubleshooting of case management and related systems; assisting with user training relative to case management and related systems and development of reporting policies. Supports the regulatory reporting requirements.
