Duties

Help
  • You will assist in the performance of triage, catheterization, venipuncture, and sample/specimen collection.
  • You will utilize computer programs such as (excel, word, powerpoint, CHCS, and AHLTA).
  • You will transfer non-ambulatory patients to and from various clinics.
  • You will provide telephone assistance in regards to making patient appointments and clinic availability.
  • You will assist in routine administrative requirements as well in the orientations of new employee?s
  • You will perform duties that require knowledge in anatomy, pharmacology, surgical and medical procedures to identify and resolve medical discrepancies.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • Pediatric Life Support (PALS) certification is suggested.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to meet any applicable credentialing or privileging requirements prior to appointment
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Vocational or Practical Nursing license

Qualifications

SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: This position has TWO selective placement factors needed in order to qualify. The actual Selective Placement Factors are a Current license to practice as practical or vocational nurses in a State or territory of the United States or the District of Columbia or must have applied for a license to practice AND a Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. Failure to possess these factors WILL result in an ineligible rating. Possession of the factors must be verifiable by submitting a copies of your license and certification with you application.

In addition with the selective placement factor your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Utilizing universal precautions and required infection control measures in regards to patient safety precautions.
  • Performing data entry, retrieval and analysis using existing databases, including immunizations/PPD.
  • Providing written and verbal reports regarding patient care for inclusion in the patient's medical record.
  • Administering adult and pediatric immunizations subcutaneous, intramuscular and intradermal injections according to established guidelines.
  • Performing sterile and non-sterile procedures using proper aspetic techniques.
