Duties

Help

  • Performs non-ballistic survivability evaluation for assigned weapon systems. Responsible for the planning, analyzing, evaluating and reporting of non-ballistic survivability domains: cyber security, electromagnetic environmental effects; countermeasures; chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear survivability; electronic warfare; and Soldier survivability in all system documentation relating to testing and evaluation (T&E )in accordance with DOD and Army policies.
  • Interacts with program managers and other members of the acquisition community to ensure a comprehensive Test & Evaluation program is conducted.
  • Prepares written analysis, evaluations, and briefings to support Army and DOD materiel decision-making. Develops, presents, and defends presentations within US Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC), to senior Army leadership, DOD officials, and at appropriate symposia.

Conditions of Employment:
1. Employee must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
2. This is an Army Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics (AT&L) Workforce position. The employee must meet DoDI 5000.66 requirements applicable to the duties of the position. Employee must meet Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position.
3. This position requires the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station up to 25% of the time.
4. Employee must be Level III certified in the acquisition career field of Test and Evaluation within 24 months of entrance on duty.
5. Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08). Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon entering the position and annually, in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation, dated 17-Nov-2011.
6. Acquisition Corps membership is required once incumbent reaches GS 13 equivalency.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). To qualify based on your education/and or experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience. This definition of specialized experience is at the NH-02/GS-11 equivalent grade/pay band in the federal service, which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined by performing the following duties; 1.Plans all systems' survivability evaluations utilizing cybersecurity, or countermeasures, or signature management skills ; AND 2. Synthesizes data from modeling and simulation, technical and operational testing to assess overall system capabilities and limitations.

Basic Educational Requirement-General Engineer-0801 (Transcripts Required)

A. I have successfully completed a full four-year professional engineering curriculum leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in engineering in an accredited college or university. The curriculum included differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. B. I have successfully completed a full four-year professional engineering curriculum leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in engineering from an accredited college or university that has an engineering curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). (NOTE: You must provide college transcripts to support educational claims)
C. I have successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam (formerly known as the Engineer-in-Training or EIT), or the written test required for professional registration administered by the Boards of Engineering Examiners in the various States, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico. I have completed all the requirements for a bachelor's degree in engineering technology (BET) from an accredited college or university that included 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences, or I have completed a BET from an ABET accredited program. (NOTE: You must provide college transcripts to support educational claims and certificate of completed EIT exam)
D. I am registered as a Professional Engineer in the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, or any State in the United States. The registration is based on a written examination given by the State Board. (NOTE: You must provide a copy of your professional engineering license and college transcripts to support educational claims)
E. I have a combination of at least four years of college level education, training, and/or technical experience that included successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences, including the courses listed in paragraph "A" above. Course work completed is fully acceptable toward the requirements of a professional engineering curriculum. (NOTE: You must provide college transcripts to support educational claims)
F. I have successfully completed a four-year curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in engineering technology or in a related scientific curriculum such as physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology; and, I have at least one year of professional engineering experience under the guidance and supervision of a professional engineer.

OR

Education

Basic Educational Requirement- Operations Research Analyst Series 1515 (Transcripts required) Bachelor's degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.

OR

Basic Educational Requirement- Computer Scientist Series 1550 (Transcripts required)
A. I have successfully completed a bachelor's degree in computer science.
OR
B. I have successfully completed a bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus.
