Duties

Help
  • You will conduct initial physical security survey for new security areas, and for existing security areas as required.
  • You will develop written physical security recommendations to the Head, Physical and Electronics Security Services.
  • You will be responsible for the proper and adequate accountability and protection of all combinations to security containers and vault doors.
  • You will provide physical security guidance upon request during design periods for new building construction and refurbishing of existing structures.
  • You will be responsible for maintaining and updating a computer database of security container records as needed.
  • You will be responsible for collecting classified and sensitive unclassified waste material from NRL Divisions and tenant activities and transfer material to the Defense Protection Agency for destruction.
  • You will provide services including combination changes, maintenance, and inspections for security containers controlled by the Physical Security Unit.
  • You will be responsible for proper and adequate accountability and protection of all combinations to security containers and vault doors for designated security areas.
  • You will carry out Navy and NRL policies and procedures to ensure adequate key-control, cuts and issues various types of keys used to protect government property.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least three years of general experience that includes one year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-01/04) or pay band (NO-01) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates the ability to: analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; plan and organize work; and, communicate effectively orally and in writing.

In lieu of experience the following education may be substituted:

4 years above high school leading to a bachelors degree.

A combination of education and experience totaling 100%
