Duties

Help

The selectee will be responsible for working with USMS Senior Staff and managers to develop strategies to promote employee and internal communication; develop tactical internal communication plans; write internal communications; develop internal communication governance, policies, and procedures; and measure the effectiveness of USMS internal communications.

Duties also include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop a variety of innovative communication messages, methods, and channels to distribute information throughout an organization.
  • Develop toolkits and templates to ensure that important messages are disseminated appropriately, efficiently, and effectively throughout an organization.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop communication plans, strategies, and solutions to internal communication issues.
  • Develop an effective internal communications program focused on communicating key information to all internal stakeholders in a timely, clear, and concise manner.
  • Facilitate meetings in order to negotiate and collaborate with senior staff and project managers.
  • Advise senior management on the most effective strategies for managing communications between senior management and employees.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level(s) in which you are applying:

To be qualified for this position at the GS-13 level, applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service that included: 1) assessing the information needs of employees; 2) designing information campaigns to present information in an effective manner; 3) create, coordinate, and market information and programs; 4) develop, implement, and provide quality assurance methods of improving the tracking and management of metrics for outreach efforts; 5) developing and implementing internal communication strategies and plans; and 6) evaluating existing procedures to identify more efficient and effective methods for accomplishing the success of a program.
