YOU MUST BE A VETERAN AND MEET ALL THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS: Honorably discharged; Released from active duty within the last five years; Pay grades at or below E-5 or O-3; 20% or greater service connected disability rating (Purple Heart recipients are exempt from the service connected disability rating requirement). Veterans who are in receipt of a 20-year or Temporary Early Retirement (TERA) retirement are not eligible for the program. NO WAIVERS WILL BE GRANTED.
The House Wellness Center is seeking a Program Specialist who is looking for an opportunity to learn from, and contribute to, the mission of the U.S. House of Representatives. The incumbent will assist with the development and implementation of strategic modernization initiatives as well as identifying and evaluating new trends in wellness which support the U.S. House of Representatives. Major duties include, but are not limited to:
Assisting in the development and implementation of evidence-based wellness programs.
Researching and recommending industry-leading wellness services and solutions to improve employee productivity and overall well-being.
Assisting in the creation and dissemination of targeted health and well-being communications which help foster a culture of wellness.
Supporting strategic initiatives through collaboration with House Wellness Center Staff as well as U.S. House of Representatives Leadership and business partners.
Helping facilitate and coordinate workshops, seminars, events, and other engagement activities. 6.Serving as the wellness liaison between the House Wellness Center and the Wounded Warrior Fellows.
This position is limited to Veterans desiring to serve a two-year paid Congressional Fellowship as part of the House of Representatives Wounded Warrior Fellowship Program.

Qualifications
Detail oriented; excellent communication skills; ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; must be able to write simple correspondence, effectively presenting information to internal and external customers; must be able to manage sensitive information appropriately; ability to work well under pressure and maintain a professional and courteous work disposition; ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Additionally, must maintain personal appearance and hygiene in a professional, neat, and clean manner to include hair, mustaches, and beards.
