    You will serve as the Director for Submarine/Submersible Design and Systems Engineering in the Naval Systems Engineering Directorate of Naval Sea Systems Command. In this position you will initiate, manage, and supervise interdisciplinary systems engineering and research and development (R&D) programs involving basic and applied research in submarine systems engineering and design including analysis and modeling.

    • You will be responsible for serving as the principal technical and managerial expert in the Navy for all matters pertaining to submarine design and systems engineering.
    • You will serve as a technical consultant and advisor to a broad range of organizations and individuals including systems commands, the Chief of Naval Operations, the Secretary of the Navy and Fleet Commanders.
    • You will serve as manager and technical leader of a significant systems engineering organization and be responsible for planning and directing the work of the Submarine and Submersible Design and Systems Engineering Group.
    • You will be responsible for the policy, standards, and tools used for submarine/submersible ship systems engineering, design, certification and validation of related technology, products, and stewardship of essential Navy and commercial capabilities.
    • You will lead or serve on high-level technical committees on matters of national importance related to areas such as ship survivability and structural integrity challenges and problems.
