As a Archives Technician, you will:

    • Communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
    • Use technical or quasi-professional knowledge of technical archival work and understanding of the substantive content of the records involved.
    • Provide assistance to agency customers.

All candidates who are:Current or former federal employees qualifying as Status Candidates, Federal employees currently serving on a VRA, VEOA eligibles, CTAP/ICTAP eligible, eligible for special hiring authorities (e.g., the Schedule A appointment for persons with disabilities, or covered by an Interchange Agreement), or VRA eligibles , or Land Management employees eligible through Public Law 114-47 [List VRA only if the grade is GS-11 (or equiv) or below.]

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

For the GS-04 you must have one year of general experience which includes progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
OR
2 years of education above high school.

Combination of general experience and education

The test requires carrying 30-pound boxes like those found on the job. It also requires bending, squatting, and walking to reach the boxes in addition to climbing and balancing on a pulpit ladder up to 15 feet high.
