Summary

About the Position: Incumbent serves as a Traffic Management Specialist (TMS) for Transportation Team, Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) Transportation Group. Responsible for performing continuing traffic and transportation surveys; evaluating transportation related contract requirements, providing technical guidance and conducting training sessions for contractor; carrier, and DCMA personnel.

Duties

Help
  • Reviews contractor performance under Contractor Freight Movement Procedures program.
  • Identifies problem areas and prescribes corrective actions to preclude recurrence of unsound traffic management practices.
  • Operates various automated transportation programs such as GFM/ETA, FACTS, IBS, GATES AES Direct and Third Party Payment System.
  • Review contracts, purchase orders, amended shipping instructions (ASIS) and change orders.
  • Participates in transportation surveys.

QUALIFICATIONS: In order to qualify, you must meet the education or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level GS-09. Specialized experience is defined as:Experience in transportation operations to identify and define requirements for use of automated systems; also of contract format and terminology to review and analyze terms pertaining to freight transportation and traffic management.


Education can be substituted for experience.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
