As the Administrative Officer for the office, this position is responsible for planning and organizing the daily administrative operations and a variety of special assignments for the Office of Communications. You shall report directly to the Deputy Communications Director and shall provide assistance to the Communications Director, as needed. Overall responsibilities of the incumbent including a complete range of the day-to-day administrative and calendar duties, press release processing, operations including document management, procurement, budget preparation and monitoring, travel arrangements and processing, property and space management and records management. These duties require use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Sharepoint and others in the Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications

In addition to the mandatory education requirement, all applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:  

GS-09:  General knowledge of principles, practices and methods of budget, procurement and reporting to assist in determining whether obligations and expenditures are within funding limitations, to expedite approved expenditures and to reconcile accounting of expenditures.

Evidence of the above specialized experience must be supported by detailed documentation of duties performed in positions held.  Your resume is the key means we have for evaluating your skills, knowledge, and abilities as they relate to this position. GS-9: Master’s or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D., if related or 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to a GS-7.
