Duties

Help

Army Futures Command (AFC) is assembling a world-class team of architects and engineers to integrate and synchronize the Future Force Modernization Enterprise (FFME). The Directorate for System Integration is the center of gravity for this transformation in land power modernization - the most significant in forty years. Incumbents support senior leaders at the highest level orchestrating concept development, requirements management, operational-systems-technical architecture, science and technology investment, systems-of-systems engineering, and program transition across the acquisition lifecycle to ensure overmatch against future adversaries. Be a key part of this renaissance in military affairs and apply today.

  • Support the development of SoS architecture products, taskers, processes, and policy.
  • Analyze the capabilities of a mix of existing and new systems into a SoS capability.
  • Provide analyst guidance on functions and inter-dependencies of existing systems.
  • Validate comparison analysis on each architectures' information requirements.
  • Provide the HQ AFC with the highest level of technical and professional architecture performance measures in fulfillment of the Army Enterprise Architecture mission.
  • Recommend changes to Architecture development policy with respect to acceptability of new force documentation processes and proposed impacts.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes managing, leading or coordinating a multi-disciplined engineering team in the integration, development, analysis and evaluation of army programs and requirements; Collaborating with key stakeholders to support the integration of SoS architecture products, processes, and policy; Utilizing Model Based Systems Engineering principles, and Army SoS engineering in the development of Army solutions.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Education

Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable.
