Developing short and long-term print, graphic and visual communication products that are primarily national in scope, and designed to deliver information about agency activities, mission, goals and policy to national audiences.
Advising senior management on communication needs and coordinating with other branch members on developing appropriate information responses.
Participating with senior management to formulate tactics to inform and educate general and specialized audiences about policies, programs and goals.
Preparing special reports and documents for press briefings, exhibits, fact sheets, position papers, congressional budget testimony, and other materials.

Qualifying experience includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-11 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience participating in planning and executing communication strategies to promote an organization's programs, activities or mission, which includes preparing graphic and visual communication products for dissemination to the public; maintain the organization's social media platform; and writing, translating or editing technical or scientific documentation in a manner that can be understood by the general public.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
