Duties

Help
  • Participates in the planning, developing, and analyses of data collection systems which are the basis for statistical and research projects that impact on content found on Social Security Administration's (SSA) Internet,
  • (cont'd) Intranet and Social Media websites and national marketing campaigns and initiatives, which requires knowledge of various SSA programs and policies.
  • Makes recommendations for changes based on data analytics (e.g., website improvements and Systems changes).
  • Collects and collates data from a number of disparate sources (e.g., Google Analytics, website plug-in, and the American Customer Satisfaction Index).
  • Maintains a close relationship with OCOMM personnel responsible for the configuration and maintenance of data analytic tools to resolve problems.
  • Works closely with appropriate personnel in the Office of Systems to make recommendations for analytics improvements on the agency's secure servers.

Applicants must qualify for the series and grade of the posted position. To qualify for the 2210 IT Specialist series, applicants must demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In addition, to qualify for the GS-13, the applicant must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled, that has equipped applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience must include work that involves the planning, development, implementation, and administration of systems for the acquisition, storage, and retrieval of data. Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.
