    About the Position: Defense Contract Management Agency uses the Expedited Hiring Authority to recruit and appoint qualified individuals directly into shortage category or critical need acquisition positions.

    The pay band NH-03 includes the General Schedule grade equivalent to GS-12/13.

    Other initiatives under the Acquisition Demonstration Project include simplified classification, streamlined hiring process and expanded developmental opportunities.

    Responsibilities

    • Serves as professional Computer/Software Engineer in a Contract Management Office (CMO) of the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).
    • Provides software development and acquisition management support for major defense acquisition programs.
    • Applies experience of computer hardware, system software, and computer system architecture and integration to examine software processes and products.
    • Applies experience to form software measurements and analysis, identify risk and evaluate risk mitigation, and manage corrective action according to software development best practices, to include earned value management.
    • Performs a variety of advances engineering functions, often serving a leadership capacity, while conducting engineering and analytical surveillance in advanced research, design, development, test, and production.
    • Performs all work in accordance with agency policies, standards, metrics and standard operating procedures for effective contract administration of Department of Defense (DoD) acquisitions.
    • Conducts Contract Review functions related to contract cost, schedule, and performance for buying activities, evaluation of production engineering, logistics, and support programs, review of nonconforming software.

    Occasional travel - Business Travel is Required 10% of the Time.
