    Salary: $74,596 (Step 01) to $96,978 (Step 10); NOTE: First time hires to the Federal Government are typically hired at the Step 01.

    As a Research Ecologist within the Northern Rocky Mountain Science Center, some of your specific duties will include: 

    -Develops a research program that addresses the basic and applied research questions focused on scientific research in wildlife species and ecosystem ecology with an emphasis on collaborations that apply spatial and temporal analyses of large datasets to understand land-use and management impacts on wildlife species of interest and ecosystem process including habitat quality.

    -Provides technical advice and assistance to Federal, State, international, and private agencies involved with research and management of large ungulates and other wildlife.

    -Participates in technical conferences and outreach activities concerned with potential energy development impacts on wildlife and techniques to support management decisions to minimize impacts and focus mitigation actions, and research programs at the international, national, regional, and local levels.

    Travel Required

    25% or less - An average of 10 nights per month of overnight travel may be required.
