    Responsibilities

    As a Social Science Program Specialist you will perform the following duties:

    • Assists in the development of, and monitors the statutory compliance of the ICE Victims Assistance Program (VAP) in field offices for which they are responsible;
    • Develops procedures, position papers, operational instructions, and decision memoranda on complex issues or national impact;
    • Provides victim assistance trainings to ICE/HSI field personnel;
    • Provides outreach trainings within their office area of responsibility;
    • Establishes and maintains a directory of local programs and services available to assist victims of crime;
    • Independently establishes and maintains liaison with ICE field offices, DHS and DOJ components, and other federal, state, and local officials and non-governmental agencies regarding victim assistance;
    • Manages interagency agreements (IAA) between ICE VAP and other federal agencies;
    • Procures and/or creates and disseminates informational resources needed to advance the goals and objectives of the VAP.
