Performs selected tasks and phases of routine studies and projects that require application of basic occupational field theory and principles in the technical area of Strategic Planning and Analysis.
Participates with senior personnel in conducting non-routine projects.
Provides assistance in planning, monitoring, and conducting special studies, projects, and initiatives.
Must meet suitability requirements for Federal employment
Must be at least 16 years of age
Must be enrolled at least half-time at a qualiflying accredited institution
Must sign a Participant Agreement
U.S. citizen or national (resident of American Samoa or Swains Island)
Must be eligible to work under U.S. immigration laws
Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal and Regulatory Guidance
You must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
Accepted for enrollment or enrolled in an approved program
Pursuing a Baccalaureate Degree (Junior/Senior only), Graduate or Professional Degree
Enrollment must be at least half-time course load as defined by the education institution (typically six hours or equivalent for undergraduate and three hours or equivalent for graduate)
Have a good academic standing (no less than 2.95 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 grading scale)

PLEASE NOTE: This is not a developmental opportunity, this position may be filled at the GS-04, grade level. The individual selected for this position may be considered for promotion to a higher grade without further competition upon meeting all legal and regulatory/program requirements.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). This is a GS-0399-04 series and requires successful completion of 2 academic years of post-high school study or an associate's degree. The required education must lead to a bachelor's degree with specialization in or directly related to the field in which the student trainees will receive training on the job. The degree of specialization in this field must satisfy on graduation the specific educational requirements in the qualification standard for the corresponding two-grade interval positions. An academic year of undergraduate education is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in an accredited college or university. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts.

This is a Pathways Student Internship opportunity managed by the Force Renewal Program and centrally funded by the Air Force's Central Salary Account (CSA). The Internship offers valuable work experience directly related to your academic field of study. This is your opportunity to begin a successful Federal civilian career with the United States Air Force. As an Intern, you will be given the opportunity to gain the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to pursue a successful career with the US Air Force and upon completing your degree and meeting conversion eligibility requirements, be eligible for placement in a permanent position.
