Duties

Help

As a Program Analyst at the NH-0343-3 some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Advise the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) leadership on all matters related to acquisition, program analysis, cost and schedule.
  • Assess, manage, and eliminate acquisition risks related to program cost, schedule and performance.
  • Work with leadership to identify and conduct special studies and analyses to determine acquisition approaches for MDA programs.
  • Assist with research, analyze, and participate in drafting and reviewing acquisition strategies.
  • Prepare, review, and document responses to external inquiries.
  • Support higher graded analysts who serve as planner, analyst, and advisor to agency management on program acquisition analysis.
  • Ensure program/project requirements are properly identified, and acquired in accordance with Agency and DoD acquisition regulations and policies.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the NH-03 level , if you fulfill the following qualifications:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02/GS-11 grade level in the Federal service as listed below:

  • Experience with the acquisition of products and services supporting a major weapon system such as the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS); experience developing acquisition strategies and plans and the related documents to implement those strategies and plans.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.

ACQUISITION POSITION: This position requires Acquisition Workforce Level II Program Management Certification prior to hiring is not essential but must be accomplished within 24 months after entry into this position.
