You will serve as a PLANNER & ESTIMATOR (MACHINIST) in the PRODUCTION PLANNING AND CONTROL DEPARTMENT of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

This position is a Temporary Promotion Not To Exceed 1 Year. Temporary actions taken under this announcement may be extended in accordance with applicable regulations, and may be made permanent without further competition.

Duties

Help
  • You will serve as the project leader for assigned machinist manufacturing projects/programs by heading teams comprised of service group leaders, production department personnel, and supply department personnel within the trade.
  • You will plan and establish schedules for assigned machinist shop workload in the Division for new manufacture.
  • You will establish maximum requirements , establish delivery dates, determine material availability, and estimate material and man hour requirements.
  • You will coordinate the phasing in of large new machinist programs/projects to assure a smoother integration with current workload.
  • You will represent the Depot to other DOD activities and customers, and will be authorized to make commitments based on machinist knowledge and background of command capabilities and program requirements.
