    Summary


    This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Office of the Chief Readiness Support Officer (OCRSO)

    The primary purpose of this position is to provide a variety of architectural design and engineering support services for planning, design and construction of HQ facilities. Additionally, to provide technical advice and assistance Department wide on Department policies, programs and procedures related to real property management.

    Responsibilities

    As a Architect GS 0808 14, your typical work assignments may include:

    1. Providing for periodic review of operational effectiveness, compliance with established processes and to all applicable regulations and applicable requirements.
    2. Performing management and/or oversight duties in the development of preliminary and conceptual design processes as well as the detailed design of facilities, systems, structures, or equipment.
    3. Coordinating technical planning in installation activities by integrating and utilizing all available resources.
    4. Providing expert source of information internally, by other agencies, and on a national level on unprecedented technical problems, the latest developments and trends, and other matters relating to the architectural design and engineering area of specialization.
    5. Developing, reviewing, and providing recommendations for proposed project requirements, expected results, and budgetary estimates.
