    About the Position:
    Public Health Command (PHC) is a regionally aligned Army Medical Command organization that provides comprehensive public health services including: occupational health, laboratory, veterinary, epidemiology and disease surveillance, occupational and environment medicine, and health promotion and wellness.

    Responsibilities

    • Serves as Chief of the Environmental Chemistry Laboratory (ECL) and Deputy Director, Division of Laboratory Sciences, U.S. Army Public Health Command - Pacific (PHC-P).
    • Plans, coordinates, and directs chemical analyses for studies at various field sites to resolve issues relating to air pollution, hazardous waste management, safe drinking water or other environmental factors which would impact the health and wellbeing of U.S. Forces in the western Pacific Theater
    • Monitors trends in the areas of and environmental compliance to identify and plan for future analytical and laboratory support requirements
    • Plans, coordinates and directs development and modification of sampling procedures, administrative procedures and analytical methodology of the isolation, identification and determination of concentrations of chemicals and materials which are regulated by law and/or have impact on public health
    • Supervises a workforce of professional Chemists and Physical Science Technicians
