Duties

Help
  • You will serve as a radiological control representative in planning, practice, or mock-up sessions in preparation for major repairs and overhaul or refueling operations.
  • You will assure adherence to radiological control requirements, recommend changes to work plans or procedures to improve radiological controls, correct deficiencies, increase efficiency and minimize radiation exposure.
  • You will take charge of situations during radiation-related emergencies and incidents until replaced by senior personnel.
  • You will demonstrate expertise in handling incidents and emergency situations where information is incomplete, or conflicting reports are received.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

For the GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: monitoring shipyard nuclear reactor plant maintenance or refueling operations to assess radiological control procedures for deficiencies or non-compliance to radiological safety requirements and recommend corrective action.

For the GS-10: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: monitoring shipyard nuclear reactor plant maintenance or refueling operations to assess radiological control methods and procedures for deficiencies or non-compliance to radiological safety requirements and exposure control to recommend and implement corrective action.
