    About the Position: As a Public Affairs Specialist plan, write, photograph and edit news articles for internal and external publications. Prepare news releases and media advisories for local media regarding 21st Theater Sustainment Command (TSC) activities.

    Responsibilities

    • Organize, execute and evaluate Public Affairs programs in the sustainment and improvement of media and public relations.
    • Incumbent provides media escort for command directed events and provides analysis of public perception of host nation and US Publics.
    • Perform work in coordination with the Public Affairs Officer and receive speech requirements from the Commanding General, conduct independent research and prepare speeches for internal, external and international audiences.
    • Serve as alternate speechwriter for the 21st TSC Commanding General (Major General) and when necessary the command group.
    • Establish and maintain contacts with local, national and international media officials and offices to obtain their support, cooperation and coordination on activities of mutual concern.
    • Provide support as spokesperson at press conferences, individual interviews, speech narrator and other activities as directed by the 21st TSC Public Affairs Officer and Command.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Up to 5% Business Travel may be required.
