The SAUSA will be responsible for prosecuting offenders for alleged violations of federal immigration law pursuant to 8 U.S.C. § 1326 and other federal criminal statutes involving violations of the immigration laws. Duties will include handling cases from the initiation of the federal prosecution through trial or guilty plea, as well as supervised release violations and other proceedings associated with the prosecution of immigration cases. "The SAUSA will also assist with the prosecution of misdemeanor cases arising out of the federal enclaves located in Santa Clara and Monterey Counties."Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
