    About the Position:
    As a Supervisory Public Affairs Specialist, you will serves as full Deputy to the Chief of Public Affairs and Communication Synchronization (PACS), the senior civilian professional public affairs and strategic communication manager for HQ USAFRICOM.

    Responsibilities

    • Recommend strategies on all aspects of the USAFRICOM communication efforts.
    • Coordinate media and public engagement activities of USAFRICOM senior leaders.
    • Coordinate communication plans, senior leader engagement plans, public statements, public release of information and engagements with partner nations, allies, the public and news media.
    • Represent USAFRICOM J035 Public Affairs and Communication Synchronization (PACS) Division at meetings, conferences and other special activities.
    • Supervise three branch chiefs who lead the Public Affairs Branch, Senior Leader Engagements Branch and the Communication Synchronization and Public Affairs Plans and Exercises Branch.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.
