    This position is in the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), Associate Director-Quality, Office of Quality Engineering and Management, as assigned. You will serve as a General Engineer that provides technical advice relating to the manufacturing and processing of United States Currency for both the Washington, D.C. and the WCF in Fort Worth, TX. The purpose of this position is to assist in enhancing the overall quality of products produced at BEP facilities.

    The following are the duties of this position at the GS-11. You will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this developmental position.

    - Serves as an advisor to Bureau components' efforts to continually improve their engineering and manufacturing quality performance.  Assists in planning, coordination, and execution of the quality programs necessary to ensure products are consistent with engineering specifications and customer requirements.

    - Assists in ensuring that product quality standards are established, approved, understood, implemented, and adhered to by all departments.

    - Investigates emerging and/or current quality problems associated with final product quality verification.

    - Performs root cause analysis and other problem solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and engineering process improvements. Investigates and initiates the response to customer complaints.

    - Works collaboratively with manufacturing and other technical components to help in the implementation of engineering quality improvement projects.

    Occasional travel - Occasional travel--0-5 days a month.
