Duties

Help
  • Plans and schedules tasks and monitors the progress of project completion.
  • Establishes a project task listing required to accomplish execution of the project within cost and time limitations.
  • Analyzes tasks to establish work interrelationships and to establish the project baseline cost and schedule for Project Manager review.
  • Collects project execution data from project managers assigned to the District.
  • Performs a variety of administrative and technical support duties such as maintaining and distributing documents and files; and prepares graphs, charts, and other materials for briefings and meetings.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify at the GS-05 grade level, you must have:
A. Generalized Experience: Three years of general experience. Generalized experience which includes assisting with researching and gathering data to analyze basic problems; recommending solutions; ensure project remains on schedule; monitors project completion; and respond to internal/external inquiries verbally and/or in writing. One year must be equivalent to the GS-04. This definition of generalized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04); OR
B. Education: Four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree, if related; OR
C. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.

To qualify at the GS-07 grade level, you must have:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing problems to identify significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions; planning and organizing work. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05); OR
B. Education: One full year of graduate level education, if related; of Superior Academic Achievement; OR
C. Combination of Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed graduate level education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for this position. Determine your total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determine your education as a percentage of the education required for the grade the grade level; then add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal 100 percent to qualify for this position. (To compute the percentage, divide you total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify).

To qualify at the GS-09 grade level, you must have:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting in managing the efficient and effective coordination and accomplishment of the planning, scoping, scheduling, tracking, budgeting, reporting, and communicating tasks of assigned projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07); OR
B. Education: A master's or equivalent graduate degree; or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR
C. Combination of Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed graduate level education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for this position. Determine your total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determine your education as a percentage of the education required for the grade the grade level; then add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal 100 percent to qualify for this position. (To compute the percentage, divide you total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify).

To qualify at the GS-11 grade level, you must have:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing the efficient and effective coordination and accomplishment of the planning, scoping, scheduling, tracking, budgeting, reporting and communicating status of assigned projects; reviewing and analyzing cost reports to assure charges are authorized and appropriate; approving project cost and schedule changes and developing strategies in resolving complex problems and issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09); OR
B. Education: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR
C. Combination of Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed graduate level education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for this position. Determine your total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determine your education as a percentage of the education required for the grade the grade level; then add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal 100 percent to qualify for this position. (To compute the percentage, divide you total months of qualifying experience by 12.
