Incumbent serves as an Attorney Advisor performing the following duties:
Researches statutes, legislative history, public policy implications, precedent cases, applicable regulations and procedures to develop background information and points of law.
Assists in drafting interrogatories/decisions.
Reviews assigned cases to identify the legal and factual issues of each case.
Identifies and documents legal issues and pertinent facts which are significant for sufficiency of hearing decisions on cases assigned.
Security and Background Requirements: If not previously completed, a background security investigation will be required for all appointees. Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication. Failure to successfully meet these requirements may be grounds for appropriate personnel action. In addition, if hired, a background security reinvestigation or supplemental investigation may be required at a later time. Qualifications
Minimum Qualification Criteria for Attorneys:
EDUCATION: Successful completion of a full course of study in a school of law accredited by the American Bar Association through which you have attained the first professional law degree, i.e. LLB, or J.D.
