Duties

Help
  • You will prepare a variety of documents, including memorandums, letters, email, reports, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • You will review correspondence prepared by others for content, correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and appropriate format.
  • You will perform a variety of administrative support duties that may include: making travel arrangements, received telephone calls and visitors, and order office supplies.
  • You will maintain the Department Head and Deputy's calendar, schedule appointments and meetings
  • You will establish, monitor, and improve clerical and administrative processes within the department, including filing of records.
  • You will develop methods for automating reports and data call responses utilizing a variety of office automation software.
  • You will use word processing to prepare spreadsheets, presentations, flow charts, edit documents, reports, phone lists, and mailing lists for the organization.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band or grade level (NG-2 or GS-5/6) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing administrative support in an office setting that includes using office automation or software. Examples of qualifying experience include performing multiple dutes such as: preparing, proofreading and editing correspondence; scheduling appointments or arranging travel.

This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
