Duties

Help
  • Direct, develop and implement an effective religious education program for a multi-faith military community.
  • Provide guidance in religious education and youth ministry programs.
  • Develop curriculum, theological instruction, teacher training and volunteer requirements.
  • Evaluate religious education needs of groups such as married couples, military active duty/retirees, civilians, family members and Department of Defense contractors through use of surveys, questionnaires, and through personal community involvement.
  • Coordinate policies and practices in religious education and youth ministry.
  • Develop marketing and advertisement for emphasis on religious education and youth ministry.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education AND experience requirements described below. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. TRANSCRIPTS ARE REQUIRED AS PART OF THE APPLICATION PROCESS.

Experience required: To qualify, your resume must describe at least 2 years of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: religious education program management and administration; religious education course and curriculum development, evaluation and selection for all denominations and faith groups; knowledge of multi-faith religious requirements and religious education program awareness and coordination; religious development theory and basic principles of faith formation; experience designing spiritual formation venues for children, youth, adults, and intergenerational groups; coordination of Youth Ministries; religious education volunteer teacher/leader training experience; religious volunteer management.


You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

MINIMUM PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION criteria include but are not limited to:

  • Masters of Religious Education degree and a minimum of 2 years of documented professional religious education experience service at the GS-1701-09 equivalent.

OR
  • Graduate degree or any discipline other than religious education. Must include a minimum of 24 documented credit hours in religious education. (Transcripts are required at the time of application).
