Duties

Help
  • As a Public Affairs Specialist (Marketing) with ICE, Office of Public Affairs, you will perform the following duties:
  • Develop regular digital marketing products and smartly disseminate online and on social media to achieve OPA?s desired communication objectives;
  • Serve as lead editor for all written OPA products for quality control;
  • Write multimedia human interest feature stories about agency mission and employees in conjunction with a team of multimedia specialists;
  • Craft marketing plans to ensure OPA products achieve planned performance results; and
  • Submit regular performance and project management metrics of OPA communication products and teams for management.

  • Probationary Period: This is a full-time permanent position (Career/Career-Conditional appointment). Upon appointment to this position, you may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.

Qualifications

GS-12: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the federal service, performing duties such as:

  • Developing and writing materials designed to reach a wide market through digital media;
  • Providing ideas on potential marketing plans;
  • Assisting in the process of establishing an organization's brand, providing positive outreach to market special initiatives; and
  • Assisting in the creation of materials to inform the public of an organization's policies, programs, services and activities.

GS-13: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the federal service, performing duties such as:
  • Editing high-profile communication products prior to publishing;
  • Contributing to marketing projects and assisting in designing and developing marketing campaigns, including publications and media initiatives designed to meet the needs of multiple audiences;
  • Using best-practice graphic and visual communication techniques and principles to design usable and visually appealing web and social media content;
  • Developing, preparing, coordinating and editing feature articles and publications that convey information to internal and external audiences; and
  • Serving as a Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR), reviewing work execution documents and cost estimates provided by contractors.
