    You will serve as the Director, Naval Center for Space Technology (NCST) at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) providing executive direction and leadership to the Center. NCST plays a crucial role in the United States space program. NCST has approximately 307 civilian employees and operates an annual budget of $423 million and substantially influences an additional $2 billion.

    • You will maintain a constant awareness of the state-of-the-art in both the space and terrestrial segments, requiring extensive interaction with other NRL divisions, other government agencies, and the aerospace industry.
    • You will provide reviews and briefings for top Navy and Department of Defense management and national authorities.
    • You will obtain support for Center programs stimulating interest and activity on the part of the Center personnel.
    • You will serve as a national authority figure on matters relating to naval space technology to the Navy, other departments of the Government and allied foreign governments.
    • You will engage with ranking officials of the Laboratory, with the chiefs of major technical units of the Department of Defense and industrial organizations and is expected to have international recognition in naval space technology.
