Serves as a Senior Advisor to Deputy Commander General, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC). Represents TRADOC at HQDA, Joint Staff, OSD, Interagency, Multinational and Service Staff forums in the National Capital Region. Develops and articulates positions to convince the Joint Staff, OSD, Congress, and industry to support the Army's fielded and future forces. Leads studies and explains analytical results guiding Joint Staff and OSD staff understanding of the Army's fielded and future capabilities and capacity. Uses first-hand knowledge of relevant social, political, and technical developments and how they interrelate with Army issues to assist senior TRADOC and Army leaders in making far-reaching program decisions. These strategic planning actions extend beyond internal TRADOC matters by identifying policy initiatives for modifying land power capabilities across the Joint Force. Engages in discourse to influence Army and DoD programmatic-related Strategy and Policy products (e.g. the Army Plan; National Defense Strategy; etc.). Provides analytical foundation for explaining Army fielded force options for maintaining the capacity to support the Combatant Commands' operational and contingency plans. Leads comprehensive analysis of formations and systems to recommend improvements in overall combat capability and capacity of the fielded force. Implements actions within the Army Force Management Model processes, Force Integration Functional Areas, and the Requirements and Acquisition processes to help produce trained and ready forces for Combatant Commanders. Coordinates with think tanks and academia to conduct independent research on areas related to Army force structure. Serves as a subject matter expert for inquiries from Congressional, DoD, academic, media, and public domains for information on Army forces. Leads, assesses, and facilitates TRADOC overall strategic engagement efforts with senior members of HQDA, Joint Staff, OSD, Congress, and associated agencies and organizations that affect the Army. Articulates positions and influences decisions for acquiring, building, and improving the Army through daily interface with Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA), Joint Staff, Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), and members of Congress and their staffs. Receives general guidance from the Deputy Commanding General/Chief of Staff, TRADOC, in terms of broad plans, policies, and programs, many of which are developed based on the recommendations of the incumbent.

TQ: Demonstrated senior-level leadership experience relevant to national and world-wide social, political, and technical developments and how they interrelated with Army issues to assist senior leaders in making program decisions; and the ability to lead studies and determine appropriate analysis techniques and processes, and communicate results and recommendations to senior leaders.
