Duties

Help
  • Assist with researching, constructing, presenting, and securing the Data Analytics Platform.
  • Gathering, installation design, creating standard operating procedures, problem resolution, and IT support for Enterprise Linux, Hadoop, or Windows 2016.
  • Responsible for documentation of client user requirements, researches and complies with DoD IT policy.
  • Coordinates with DoD OIG IT Enterprise Architecture and Infrastructure to implement updates and ensure Data Analytics Platform clients remain secure and functional.
  • Assist project teams with identifying, gathering, and understanding relevant data to support analysis, as well as, assess relative quality and reliability of the data.
  • Assist with data preparation, including data cleansing, transformation, combination, aggregation, and scripts for reoccurring ingestion in preparation for modeling and analysis.
  • Assist with developing data visualizations of results for ease of use and adoption of analytics.
  • Assist with regular training sessions and maintain open office hours for teams to directly ask for analytics software support.

  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • As a condition of employment, the individual must possess or be able to obtain an Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification, within 6 months of employment.
  • Employee is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DOD 8570.1-M (Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program).

Qualifications

Basic Requirement:
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement, qualified applicants must possess:

GS-11: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-09 within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized Experience is defined as: maintaining, and assisting with documentation of IT policy compliance; Providing systems administration support for at least one of the following platforms (Windows 2016, Hadoop, or Enterprise Linux) AND IT-related experience demonstrating Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving as described in the vacancy announcement.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Qualifying Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. Combination of education and experience is not applicable for this position.

GS-12: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-11 within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized Experience is defined as: establishing basic network design and connectivity; maintaining, and documenting compliance with organizational IT policies; expertise with maintaining IT ticketing systems and responding to user-driven trouble tickets; Providing systems administration support or having a working knowledge of at least 2 of the following platforms (Windows 2016, Hadoop, or Enterprise Linux) AND IT-related experience demonstrating Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving as described in the vacancy announcement.
Education is not substitutable for experience for the GS-12.
