    Position is located in the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General DoD OIG, Deputy IG for Administrative Investigations (DoD Hotline). The DoD Hotline receives allegations regarding suspected threats to homeland security, leaks of classified information, fraud, waste, and mismanagement affecting DOD programs and operations at the local, national, and international levels.

    As an Investigator (Hotline), GS-1810-13, your typical work assignments may include the following:

    • Analyzes complaints to determine credible allegations and the applicable policy, regulation, or law allegedly violated.
    • Conducts interviews, analyzes statements and documentary evidence for relevant facts.
    • Develops comprehensive investigation plans to scope the investigation and ensure timely completion.
    • Oversight of written reports of investigation that includes analysis of evidence against a known standard to make a determination/conclusion.
    • Conducts oversight reviews of investigation by Service/Defense Agency IG's.
    • Drafts memoranda/correspondence to communicate investigative findings to senior officials and internal/external stakeholders
    • Evaluates draft investigative reports and other written correspondence for compliance with established timelines and policies.
    • Processes classified complaints related to Intelligence matters containing Top Secret /Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) information.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - you may be expected to travel up to 10% for this position.
