The position is located in the Smithsonian Institution's Archives, (SIA), and is part of the American Women's History Initiative.The incumbent will work across the SI to access, research and produce digital resources and exhibitions pertaining to women scientist in American history.They will uncover the role of SI women scientist from the 19th century to today to heighten the public's knowledge and appreciation of the role women, have played in constructing our national identify and culture.Learn more about this agency
- Responsible for researching, analyzing and reviewing the Smithsonian's collections and web resources related to the role of Smithsonian women in science for online access and exhibitions.
- Use existing data and metadata management tools and follows established SIA digitization and descriptive standards to create digital information resources.
- Assists with preparation and curation of documents and images for online publications and exhibitions.
- Produce archival exhibitions related to women in science.
