Summary

The incumbent of this position Supervisory IT Program Manager is located in the Chief Technology Office for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Electronic Health Record Modernization (OEHRM), within the Office of the Deputy Secretary of VA (DEPSECVA). The VA OEHRM is responsible for ensuring that VA successfully prepares for, deploys, and transitions to, a new Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

Duties

Help

Major Duties:

  • Oversees development of program/project plans and acquisitions.
  • Oversees the development of detailed program/project plans, tasks, schedules, and helps identify milestone dates to ensure proper sequencing of events, work efforts, and resources to accomplish objectives.
  • Supports obtaining resource requirements, manpower and funding to implement programs/projects. Identifies and coordinates with stakeholders as required.
  • Coordinates with senior agency leaders and technical personnel within OEHRM to ensure architecture is compliant with regulatory policies, communication, software standards and with user requirements.
  • Manages and facilitates stakeholder meetings to develop plans.
Work Schedule: M-F 8am - 4:30pm
Compressed/Flexible Schedule: Authorized at discretion of the supervisor

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

GS-15 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: electronic health records and data migration, technical planning, strategy and roadmaps to achieve stakeholder goals and objectives with respect to legacy application transition. In addition, experience and knowledge of information technology; cloud computing/hosting, project management, and resources management sufficient to serve as senior expert and consultant to top agency management officials to advise on Department-level initiatives. Experience applying wide range of IT process principles, standards, precedents, techniques, requirements, methods, applications, sources, and procedures to evaluate various systems, programs, and policies.

Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

There is no educational substitution for the GS-15 level.
