Duties

Help
  • Review reports, documents, and correspondence require substantial analysis to present accurate and critical information prepared by subject-matter experts (SMEs) who are experts in their field.
  • Perform line-editing reviews and proofreads a variety of USAIGA draft or final reports, documents and correspondence.
  • Plan a strategic communications plan for the agency that identifies communication and engagement objectives that require extensive research and analysis to define and explain the Army?s policies, programs and information in detail and correct form.
  • Coordinate and act as a facilitator for the agency's strategic communications working group that is tasked to refine communication and engagement objectives as well as assist in developing supporting products.
  • Manage and execute a strategic communications plan for the USAIGA that identifies communication and engagement objectives.
  • Develop programs in requested format, records, and files for future use utilizing work processor memory.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The employee must attend and graduate from The Inspector General School, Fort Belvoir VA.
  • The employee must obtain and maintain Army Inspector General Certification as outlined in AR 20-1, Inspector General Activities and Procedures.
  • The incumbent is required sign a DA-5019 form, pass a pre-employment drug test prior to being appointed and submit to random drug testing at any time during federal employment as a condition of employment.

THIS IS AN OBLIGATED POSITION

  • This position is a TERM position. It is time-limited and may be extended up to a maximum of six years.
  • This position may be converted to permanent career or career-conditional appointment without further competition as long as all requirements are met. To be eligible for conversion, employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have a current performance rating under such term appointment of at least fully successful or equivalent.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Developing written products that articulate, interpret, and explain highly complex, potentially controversial, and important agency policies, programs, and research findings; proposing changes in agency editorial and publishing policies and practices; and managing publishing projects.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
