This vacancy announcement is for a Dual-Status Technician position which requires active membership in the New Jersey National Guard (uniformed military service). Official appointment is not effective until membership within the New Jersey National Guard is confirmed by the gaining Human Resources Office.
Areas I: Open to Permanent, (does not include Temporary) on-board, Title 32 Technicians of the NJ National Guard
Areas II: Open to Permanent, (does not include Temporary) on-board, Title 32 and Title 5 Employees of the NJ National Guard
Areas III: Open to New Jersey National Guard members (This includes Army and Air)
Areas IV: Open to anyone eligible for membership in the New Jersey National Guard
Military Grades: O-1 to O-5
Compatible Military Assignment: 11MXF
Selectee will have two (2) years to obtain the required AFSC.
Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. General Experience
Must have the following experience(s);
Understanding of the occupation's basic principles and concepts
One year on-the-job experience in the grade (or a comparable military rank)
Mandatory Qualification Requirements
A Federal Aviation Administration pilot certificates -OR- appropriate military certifications
Military ratings in the main-frame military aircraft of employment
Specialized Experience
Must have 36 months of experience in the following;
Piloting and instructing pilot skills in one or more of the following main-frame/military aircraft;
Fixed-wing
Rotary
Remotely piloted aircraft
Training and instructing others in the piloting of a specified main-frame military aircraft
Supervising and/or conducting mission planning, mission preparations, filing of flight plans, and conducting crew briefings
Traditional "stick and rudder" type controls for piloting aircraft direction, altitude, and speed
Planning, scheduling, and conducting training flights through Federal Aviation Administration controlled national airspace
Conducting particular missions and flying specific main-frame aircraft in combat tactics
Flying in mountainous terrain
Performing tactical remote site evaluations
Performing landings on remote sites
Providing ground and flight training
Conducting night-vision operations or instructions
Must have two years of experience in one of the following programs;
Civilian aviation program
Military service aviation program (active duty or reserve components)
Army National Guard Aviation Support facility
Air National Guard Wing/ Operations Group
REQUIRED FLYING HOURS:
200 hours total military fixed wing flying time
KC-135 flying time preferred
Education
This position has the following education requirements:
An undergraduate, four-year degree from an accredited college/university
A Federal Aviation Administration certifications awarded from an accredited civilian aviation program OR must have aviation certification from accredited military aviation school.
