Serves as a Consumer Research Team Leader and expert to Natick management on all aspects of the Consumer Research program.
Provides technical leadership to promote and integrate Soldier feedback into all Natick Research Development Technical and Engineering programs as applicable/appropriate.
Represents and acts for Natick in briefings, meetings, etc. relating to Soldier feedback and/or consumer research program, methods and project data.
Provides technical direction and assignments to other staff members responsible for implementing surveys, focus groups and study support for other teams with the directorate.
Demonstrates competencies to lead people, change and business development.
Demonstrate adaptability, flexibility and appropriate risk taking to set priorities, establish longer term goals, and develop business opportunities.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Acquisition Certification Level III in Science and Technology Manager within 24 months of appointment
One year supervisory probationary period may be required.
Overnight travel 30% or less may be required.

The US Army Natick Solider Research Development & Engineering Center is participating in an alternative personnel system known as the Laboratory Personnel Demonstration Project (DEMO). Among other features, the Demonstration Project replaces GS grade levels with occupational families and pay bands. This position is in pay band DB-03 and equates to the former GS-12 step 01 through GS-14 step 10.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service at the GS-11/DB-02 grade level. (Pay Band DB-03 is equivalent to a GS-12 through GS-14 grade level and Pay Band DB-02 is equivalent to a GS-05 through GS-11 grade levels.)
