The major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Executes the educational, technical and the operational aspects of clinical simulation training and education in a simulation environment.
Provides technical support for a wide variety of highly sophisticated and complex simulation equipment to include but not limited to anatomic models, task trainers, and screen based simulators.
Manages mannequin based and standardized patient simulation exercises.
Anticipate and/or troubleshoot any issues related to the simulation exercises before, during and after exercises as necessary, and provide documentation of such issues.
Subject to a background/suitability investigation.
Designated and/or random drug testing may be required.
Time-in-grade restrictions MUST be met by the closing date.***

Physical Requirements: Work is primarily sedentary.

Qualifications

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-9. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. Basic Requirement: Degree: Must have an undergraduate or graduate degree in education or a subject related to the position. OR
Experience that demonstrates having practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate fields; Supervising or administering a training program; Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devises, etc., and evaluation of training results; Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.

Specialized Experience: Applicants must have One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Experience in planning, coordinating, facilitating and evaluating complex simulation educational programs.
Experience in facilitating group discussions of various sizes
Experience in working with others to improve processes; experience in delivering quality, timely, and well-researched products under general or minimal guidelines.

Applicants may substitute education for the experience required for the GS-11 level. For education to qualify, applicants must possess a PH.D or equivalent graduate degree OR have completed 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree in a major field of study which provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.

Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at the GS-11 level. To calculate, first identify the percentage of required education you have earned (when substituting, you cannot use the first 18 semester hours that you earned). Then identify the percentage of required experience you possess. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify at the GS-11. For example, an applicant who has 9 semester hours of graduate level education (i.e. 50% of graduate education required) and 6 months of creditable specialized experience (i.e. 50% of the required experience) would equal 100% of the required experience for the position.
