This position is located at the Seward Military Resort in Seward, AK.
Approximate dates of employment are 15 May - 15 September 2019.
Performs a variety of tasks having several steps or a sequence of tasks that requires attention to work operations in a kitchen or dining area following established procedures.
Primary duty is a meat carver in buffet lines during banquets, receptions, brunch, etc.
Responsible for the proper carving of roasts, turkey and ham into individual serving sizes as requested by the guests.
Receives specific training from the supervisory chef and is evaluated on the basis of demonstrated skill in carving as directed.
Sets up buffet lines, steam tables, dining room tables and side service stands with hot and cold food items including meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter and beverages; replenishes as necessary.

A one year probationary period may be required
Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check
Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty
Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-15j(1) to include a medical examination.
Frequently lifts and moves items weighing up to 40 pounds.
Requires constant standing, stooping, bending, walking and reaching.
Qualifications
Ability to follow oral and written instructions and possess basic math skills.
Experience as a Food Service Worker desirable.
Ability to follow oral instructions and do assigned repetitive tasks.
Must observe established safety procedures when using knives and other equipment in the performance of duties.
Knowledge of food handling techniques for sanitation and safety purposes is required.
Must have skill and knowledge to perform tasks involving several procedures and be able to concentrate on work assignments despite frequent interruptions and distractions.
Must know basic food handling techniques, personal hygiene standards and safe work procedures.
