Duties

Help
  • Instructs patrons on range safety practices, and provides general firearm and marksmanship information. Responsible for all safety issues in the operation of the range.
  • Ensures proper handling storage, accountability, inventory of ammunition, and vault security.
  • Issues ammunition and range related accessories to customers, checks ID, and collects fees.
  • Performs cashier duties and maintains records of sales.
  • Directs patrons; schedules use of ranges; conducts briefings; and monitors patrons.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • If selected, a completed and signed copy of our job application form (DA Form 3433) is required prior to entrance on duty.
  • Individual must be able to lift up to 45 pounds without assistance and heavier loads with assistance.
  • Must meet age restrictions for the handling of firearms. Position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
  • A negative drug test is required prior to appointment for a TDP.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment physical is required for this position.
  • Must be able to work during the hours of operation to include nights and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Must have experience with firing range operations and firearm safety and possess work experience which involved dealing with the general public.
  • Must have cashier skills.
  • Must be able to obtain current Installation Range Certification Card, National Rifle Association (NRA) Range Safety Officer Certification, or equivalent certification within 60 days of entrance on duty.

LAUTENBERG AMENDMENT: This position authorizes the incumbent to carry a firearm. Any person who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence cannot lawfully possess a firearm or ammunition {Title18, U.S.C., Section 922(g)(9)}. A "misdemeanor crime of domestic violence" is generally defined under the statute, as any offense involving the use or attempted use of physical force, or the threatened use of a deadly weapon, committed by the victim's current or former domestic partner, parent or guardian. The term "convicted," as defined in the statute, excludes any person whose conviction has been expunged, set-aside, or pardoned, or any person whose civil rights have been restored unless the pardon, expungement or restoration of civil rights expressly prohibits the possession of firearms or ammunition. Candidates who have been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence within the meaning of the referenced statute are not qualified for this position. Candidates under consideration will be required to certify whether they have ever been convicted of such an offense. False or fraudulent information proved by candidates is criminally punishable by fine or imprisonment, [Title 18, U.S.C., Section 1001].
