    The Auditor, located in the Office of Audit & Evaluation, Bay Pines Audit Operations Division (referred to as the St. Petersburg Audit Operations Division) is responsible for planning and conducting financial and performance audits of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) programs, functions, and operations.

    As an Auditor, you will:
    -Prepare and conduct audit surveys and program evaluations, which focus on specific audit objectives.
    -Research and prepare proposals for future department-wide audits.
    -Participate with the OIG investigative or inspection staff in joint projects and in investigating and responding to Hotline complaints when expertise is required.
    -Research issues relating to non-concurrence on report findings, or recommendations, and provide recommendations regarding whether such matters should be referred to higher management officials at the headquarters level.
    -Represent the office on interagency task forces established to study specific audit procedures, and processes, or on joint projects with other OIG offices as required.

    Travel Required

    25% or less - Travel nationwide under tight deadlines. The incumbent should anticipate frequent walking and standing as a component of this travel.
