Duties

Help
  • Plan and supervise conferences, meetings, social events and ceremonies involving the Commanding General, Deputy Commander, Deputy Management Support, Chief of Staff or Army Chief of Staff.
  • Provide administrative support for the Command Group to include managing the command?s SharePoint site and the flow of correspondence and suspense requirements.
  • Develop and monitor the budget for the Command Group and Office of the Chief of Staff.
  • Assume the duties of Executive Assistant to the Commanding General as required.
  • Serve as the Command Contingency Fund Custodian and ensure funds requests comply with regulatory guidance.
  • Establish and review protocol policies and procedures.
  • Direct and review arrangements made for Senior Officials, VIP?s and Official Visitors to include agendas, transportation, lodging, meals, conferences and briefings.
  • Attend Command functions in an official capacity during and after normal duty hours.
  • Plan, coordinate and monitor Command Special Emphasis Programs, Spouse Orientation Program and multiple volunteer/special events.
  • Assign and review work performed by assigned personnel, providing policy guidance and instruction.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert on all matters pertaining to administrative functions, protocol and visitor activities.
  • Advise the Command Group on all matter of protocol and VIP visits.
  • Review all personnel actions for signature, logging, tracking and completion.
  • Compose a variety of specialized and routine correspondence relative to protocol functions.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which involves managing and/or assisting in a variety of special visits, tours, meetings and other events attended by executive leadership; providing guidance on protocol matters such as flags, seating and dress; planning official social functions including items such as determining proposed guest lists, degree of formality and appropriate type of function; and providing administrative support functions and managerial tasks for senior staff members maintaining appointments and other commitments. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Administration or Business Management.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
