Duties

Help
  • Develops policies, plans, and procedures relating to audit liaison throughout DISA and executes audit liaison functions as prescribed by appropriate laws, directives, and regulations.
  • Serves as the focal point for all auditors external to DISA and facilitates the command reply and resolution process.
  • Conducts follow-up and tracks management actions to correct problems identified in internal and external audit reports.
  • Produces monthly and quarterly reports to senior management, detailing all ongoing internal and external audit activity by directorate, audit agency, and/or audit functional area.
  • Arranges entrance and exit conferences and in-process reviews between external auditors and Agency officials.
  • Performs Contracting Officer Representative COR duties.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:
This position has a positive education requirement. To qualify for this position you must meet one of the basic requirements described below:

Completion of all requirements for a bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law
OR
Candidates may also qualify through a combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of professional accounting experience (at least one year must be equivalent to the journeyman level) or an equivalent combination of professional accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge AND 24 semester hours in accounting/auditing courses or a certificate as a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor

Specialized Experience:

For the GS-13 you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-12 if outside the Federal service, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as experience facilitating and coordinating the exchange of required information relative to specific audits, analyzing such information and ensuring appropriate dissemination. Experience must demonstrate the ability to follow up on audit findings to ensure satisfactory resolution of discrepancies discovered and experience in the development of policies, plans and/or procedures as well as demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of audit and accounting standards and performing Contracting Officer Representative duties.

In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of knowledge, skills and abilities, or competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. Education is not substitutable for specialized experience at this grade level.
