    • Operate with a high degree of autonomy and authority to interpret complex statutes, Human Resources regulations, and planning/programming guidance issued by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), Department of Defense (DoD) and other agencies.
    • Ensure personnel guidance is applied with the United States Army Europe (USAREUR) Area of Responsibility (AOR).
    • Keep the Deputy Commanding General informed of progress and unusual developments on important personnel matter or problems of a sensitive nature.
    • This position serves as the Deputy G1 to the United States Army Europe (USAREUR) G1.
    • The incumbent in this critical senior leader position oversees and tracks a wide variety of military, civilian, and host nation personnel human resources programs and systems.
    • In the absence of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G1, the incumbent represents the G1.
    • The incumbent will communicate with a large number of USAREUR, USEUCOM, and Department of the Army and Department of Defense agencies as a representative both of the USAREUR G1 and United States Army, Europe.
