We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed. Additional vacancies may be filled through this announcement in this or other GSA organizations within the same commuting area.

This position is located in the General Administration Services, Federal Acquisition Service (FAS), Office of Customer and Stakeholder Engagement (QC). The Office of Customer and Stakeholder Engagement is responsible for providing data driven, strategic account management that delivers mission value to FAS portfolios, our agency clients, and the taxpayer. You will be responsible for the following:

  • Managing the planning and presentation of FAS marketing events such as trade shows, exhibitions, conferences and meetings.
  • Planning and managing includes logistics, delivery of educational content, vendor relationships, and group coordination.
  • Recommending and influences management decisions on expositions and conferences for FAS to attend or host.
  • Researching and recommends appropriate event facilities and services to clients.
  • Negotiating contracts and pricing within government guidelines. 
  • Developing and implements an outreach and marketing program for each event and trade show in order to maximize attendance.
  • Developing an advertising campaign in advance of the exposition.
  • Developing media relations messages and strategies.
  • Developing theme, logo, and graphics.
  • Developing and manages all meeting communications and materials including invitations, confirmations, agendas, briefing books, and meeting-specific contents as required.
  • Effectively and professionally communicates with all speakers and attendees.

The GS-14 salary range starts at $114, 590 per year.   

If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.  

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  

You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or higher in the Federal service.  Specialized experience must include determining requirements and methodologies for events and ceremonies; providing technical expertise and advice in researching, planning and implementing special events; making recommendations to management on ways to correct/improve local and national events including suggestions for resource reallocation, goal/objective modification, and/or efficiency improvement.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

  1. Knowledge of the development and presentation of large scale conferences and expositions.
  2. Knowledge of business practices in the meetings and conventions industry. 
  3. Knowledge of marketing principles, practices, and techniques.
  4. Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Your answers to the questions will be used to place you in one of three categories:  Best Qualified, Well Qualified, or Qualified.
  • We will verify your answers to the questions in your resume.  If your resume doesn’t support your answers, we may lower your score, which could place you in a lower category.
  • Within each category, veterans will receive selection priority over non-veterans.
