Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): You may be eligible for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP). This program authorized VA to make tax-exempt debt reduction payments to certain recently appointed employees who have outstanding, qualifying educational loans. Educational loans that qualify for coverage under EDRP are limited to Government (Federal, State, local) and commercial loans for health professional education. Additionally, the health professional education covered by such loans must have qualified the participant for appointment to the position for which the EDRP awards were authorized. As a condition of participating in EDRP, an employee must sign and Acceptance of Conditions form.
