    This position of SUPERVISORY GOVERNMENT INFORMATION SPECIALIST starts at a salary of $87,804.00 (GS-13, Step 01), with promotion potential to $114,146.00 (GS-13, Step 10).

    • Direct work to be accomplished by subordinates, establish work priorities and standards; give advice, counsel, and instructions to supervisors and individual employees on both work and administrative matters; manage the overall workflow of the unit.
    • Develop and execute operating procedures that are concise and understandable; write directives affecting division policy; provide clarification on internal FOIA/PA processing procedures and workflow issues; approve changes to internal guidance.
    • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory guidance in processing FOIA/PA requests; provide specific support to general counsel on cases in appeal or litigation; determine how highly complex cases should be handled, communicate with counsel.
    • Lead meetings with supervisory staff to discuss division goals and issues; listen to supervisory concerns, issues,and ideas and provide timely feedback; promote communication between supervisors and employees; ensure team meetings are held regularly.
    • Coach and motivate subordinate supervisors and employees through training, mentoring, and developmental opportunities; support subordinate supervisors in planning and developing training opportunities for employees.
    • Review training, time and attendance, and overtime to ensure resources are properly utilized and in compliance with government regulations.
